sometimes i feel like blogging is taking over my life.

what with work, everyday life, 500 million posts on google reader, & my blog to tend to each day, i've turned into a stressed mess. i won't pull a miley, but i may have to go into hiding for a few days. so don't hate if i'm quiet this week.

Trick or Treat?

you may think it's a little strange that i've been thinking about halloween costumes for the past month, but if you know me, you know i love nothing more than to dress up. so lay off.

i've narrowed it down, but i need your help deciding!

option 1:

lady gaga

i don't get too many opportunities to sport a leotard & bleach blonde hair (wig, obvs).

my costume will also include: some sort of ridiculously huge bow or geometrically retarded object on my shoulder region, large shades, high heels, leather, & a spray tan. oh & absolutely no pants.

option 2:

rachel zoe

i thought about being rachel last year, but decided on blair waldorf instead because the thought of wearing layers of clothing + a fur coat in dallas in october was unbearable. it was like 85 degrees, no exaggeration. but october in chicago is perfect fur weather!! i just have to make sure not to wear it out to a bar or something. i would DIE if someone (me) spilled a drink on a real fur coat. or worse yet, if someone threw paint on me!?!? i mean, it happened to samantha in s&tc.

i have a million things on my "to-do list."

they've been on there for quite some time now. ugh.

i'm psychedddd to go to 6 flags for fright fest.

it hasn't been planned yet, but it will happen.

insprired by a tweet from cjpotter, i'm about to make myself a swiss miss hot cocoa with lots of marshmallows.

Rambles...

1. i'm watching the sex & the city movie right now.

god i love it. can't wait for the 2nd.

2. i also watched dazed & confused today.

another great one.

3. as of this morning, i hadn't seen erik in going on three weekends. and low & behold, guess who texted me this evening to see what i was doing? for reals.

i was just starting to think that i was kinda over it, but it's not like i have anything better going on, so i think i'm going to make some plans to go downtown next weekend with friends so we can meet up.

it's just a pretty standard grey wool sweater but it has the most faboosh silver sequined shoulders. i'm in love. just can't wait for it to get a little colder out so i can wear it without breaking out in the sweats.

oh, & do you like the lips?? it's nars red lizard lipstick - the same one i thought about buying during my pre-watercolor trip to sephora with whitney 5 months ago. i finally caved and bought it a couple weeks ago, along with the green nail polish.

5. i was super psyched about eating dad's yummy chili tomorrow during the bears game. then i found out that he decided he's going to make beef stroganoff instead. gag. margaux & i will likely be taking a trip to mai thai for the best pad thai ever made instead. mmmmm.

6. i feel horrible that i forgot to do a special birthday post (it was yesterday) for my bestie, marciny!

even more so when the bears bring it home like they have these past 2 weeks. BAM.

this whole not working out thing is getting out of hand.

i can't promise that i'll be good about it, but i am going to try to bring back color of the week - if for no other reason than it forces me to paint my nails often & look nice(r).

there's a pic of me wearing them on my first day of kindergarten - along with my matching neon green spandex bike shorts, hot pink/hot green/white tank top, and green & pink scrunchies (keeping my pigtails in place).

i don't know why more shoes aren't made with double laces.

well as a lover/wearer of the low side pony, i am in full support of this. & i decided to try it out today. love. okay so mine isn't quite as glamourous as the models' but it worked just fine for a trip to costco.

a bulleted list of updates:

• casey is officially a resident of chicago. we had a lovely day of catching up/hanging out yesterday, complete with lunch at labriola bakery, a walk through oak brook mall, a drive through the village of hinsdale, and some hanging at my house. so glad to have one of my besties close by!

• my yia yia is coming in town this weekend. my cousin nicky is having a family get together at his place on friday. it'll be super chill - dan's pizza, beer, and cousins galore. can't wait. :)

• my aunt went back to the hospital yesterday. she's out now but they're still running tests to see what's up.

• i can't stop eating gummies, even though they make me feel sick. it's like i'm back in dallas, hanging out with sara. haha. oh! jill, that reminds me.. i found a place by my house that sells chocolate covered gummy bears. i see this turning into a serious problem.

• i still have no idea what i'm going to wear for alyssa's out of town era birthday party. i have 80's stuff, but i kinda want to do something different.... i'm thinking maybe 70's.

even still, i can't think of a more perfect way to spend a sunday than to wake up to homemade pancakes, listen to the rain fall outside while bundled up in the warmth, watch the bears beat the steelers, make the most delicious loaded nachos e.v.e.r. & end the evening with corpse bride & gummies.

yes, it was truly excellent.

i still haven't thought of a costume for alyssa's birthday theme party next weekend.

we're going up to her lake house in wisconsin, woop woop! the party's theme is "era" - i.e. choose an era & dress appropriately. you know i love a good theme party... ;) any suggestions??

we had another house showing yesterday.

it sounds like they're going to make an offer. i just hope we'll still be here until after the holidays. :( friends, come visit meeeeee! i really miss you.

i'm going to organize a trip to 6 flags during fright fest.

hi boos!

i'm sorry i've been so mia the past couple of days. things have been crazy busy with work & all the house showings we've had this past week. ugh.

anyway, here's what's on my mind...

1. i went to an smu alumni event last night at the art institute of chicago downtown.

my friend alyssa & i went together (alyssa & i went to high school together, she transferred to smu soph year, we hung out at first but she was dating a guy at ut so she was in austin every weekend, we lost touch, didn't start hanging out again until i moved back to chicago) & we met jessica grose there. i also saw tri-delt jaclyn & "sloppy joe" there. we all enjoyed some complementary cocktails, did a little mingling, listened to some guy talk about the economic state of our country & how great smu business school is... hey yaaaa, meadows! all in all though, it was a good time! :) & slops didn't get too sloppy.

i couldn't be happier that this weekend is over.

my saturday night was a hot mess in the worst way possible.

it's not that i've been forgetting, i've just been lazy.

i'm seriously obsessed with this girl/blog.

she does diy projects all the time (which turn out amazing) & thrifts like everything she wears & always manages to look hot. how!? i'm pretty convinced that i'd look like a homeless if i took up that lifestyle. ...i'm kind of inspired to try though? heaven help me.
