i love sunday night football!

even more so when the bears bring it home like they have these past 2 weeks. BAM.

this whole not working out thing is getting out of hand.

so obese.

i can't promise that i'll be good about it, but i am going to try to bring back color of the week - if for no other reason than it forces me to paint my nails often & look nice(r).

& in honor of that, here's a pic of my nails from yesterday's theme party. i chose the 90's as my decade. so overlooked & under-appreciated.

hi boos!

i'm sorry i've been so mia the past couple of days. things have been crazy busy with work & all the house showings we've had this past week. ugh.

anyway, here's what's on my mind...

1. i went to an smu alumni event last night at the art institute of chicago downtown.

my friend alyssa & i went together (alyssa & i went to high school together, she transferred to smu soph year, we hung out at first but she was dating a guy at ut so she was in austin every weekend, we lost touch, didn't start hanging out again until i moved back to chicago) & we met jessica grose there. i also saw tri-delt jaclyn & "sloppy joe" there. we all enjoyed some complementary cocktails, did a little mingling, listened to some guy talk about the economic state of our country & how great smu business school is... hey yaaaa, meadows! all in all though, it was a good time! :) & slops didn't get too sloppy.

2. sorry for skipping music monday.

our house is officially on the market.

today we had realtors & a photographer come through to take pics of the house for the listing. omg, this is the saddest day ever. i know it's just a house & seeing as how my mom's an interior designer, it's not even possible for our new house to be less than beautiful after she gets her hands on it, but this is home. we built this house before i was born. we've had every christmas here for the past 25 years. every room holds a million memories of good times, bad times, childhood, people loved and lost. i knew my parents never intended to stay here forever, but in the back of my mind, i kind of thought they would. it's just so sad to know that our beautiful home might belong to some other weird (maybe) family in a matter of months. possibly even sooner, considering the crap the realtors say when they walk in. wahhhhh, i'm such a sappy baby but i just can't help it.

in other news...

i rescheduled my date, originally set for tonight.

erik & i are going out tomorrow instead. not sure what the plan is yet.

if i had the extra cash, i would totally snatch up all of the jewels featured on hautelook today.

Sunday Night Confessional (& wkend recap)

this is kinda long, but it's also hilarious.

i had so much fun this weekend, even though i didn't go out that much.

i went over to taryn's house friday night. i was really good friends with taryn sophomore/junior year of high school, but we didn't really hang out senior year & i haven't talked to her since. but she's good friends with the boys i've been hanging out with so.... it was fun. ridiculous & fun. i got home at 5am saturday morning.

then saturday i went back over to taryn's for a pool party, which ended up being like 9 people total. but whatevs, we grilled out, went swimming, drank beer - what's not to like.

i was supposed to go downtown last night, but i bailed due to the fact that my body just wasn't having it after the 24 hrs prior.

i'm kinda regretting it though because i was going to meet up with erik... & now i guess i won't see him til next weekend. wah wah.

i still reallyyyyy miss my friends!

and i still really miss knox street. when are we having our reunionnnnn?

i'm still loving my new blog.

prob because i tend to prefer looking at pics than reading.

i got a couple new things at gap today.

namely the always skinny distressed jeans i've had my eye on for the past 2 months. & a purple zip up hoodie. i love them. :)

haha, this is totally how i felt this morning when my mom barged into my room yelling at me to get up because we had "a million things to do today." p.s. it's was 8 in the morning. blahhhhhhh, that is too early for me.

but i guess we're having photos taken of our house as well as an open house showing next week. wahhhh, it's for real. so we've been cleaning & washing windows for the past several hours. make it stoppppp.

& sadly, that is all i have to report. my life is so uneventful.

i have neglected my health, in favor of having fun.

it's been great, but i think i'm going to have to change this.

i suck at working out.

& i seriously want to punch jillian michaels in the vagina every time i do that 30 day shred.

my "call yia yia, whitney, sara, marciny, elise, jana, casey......" post-it which has been sitting on my desk for approximately 2 weeks has obviously not done its job.

blame the post-it! seriously though, i'm a bad friend. i'm sorry.

i shamelessly rocked out to this song on my drive downtown last night.

& i illegally downloaded it immediately upon returning this morning.

sorry for my brief hiatus these past 2 days.

things have been nuts around here on the reals. not exciting nuts, just generally more hectic than usual. we're in the middle of giving our house a mini makeover - painting the walls, ceilings, & baseboards, cleaning closets, putting wood floors in. ugh, it's awful. but we all have our bedrooms back which means no more shacking on floors, couches, & chairs like a homeless.

other than that, i've been working my tail off.

& that's pretty much it.

today peter michael & i took my kitty to the vet.

-sitting pretty like the princess she is-

sammy cat is terrified of the car/her carrying case/the vet because the last time she dealt with the afore mentioned, she woke up without her internal lady parts, totally drugged up on anesthesia, unable to move, & in a great deal of pain.

i'm now $240 poorer, but she's been puking all over the place for the past couple of weeks now, so it was totally necessary that we get her checked out. she cried the most pathetic little howl the whole way which totally broke my heart. & then she had to get bloodwork & a pee sample taken. poor baby! i hope she's okay.

i have a serious attachment to this kitten. it's like i birthed her. so if you happen to remember her while laying in bed & saying your nightly prayers, i would greatly appreche.

&&&& now i'm just chillin.

watching 17 again, tcby in hand.

& i'm pretty sure this is how my evening will go.

i'm going downtown with lisa, kristen, etc. tomorrow night, which guarantees a crazy night to come (you may remember this...) + i have tickets to the cubs game on sunday, so i really have no overwhelming desire to party tonight.

today was crazy crazy. full of meetings.

but that's cool, because i def need the money.

& speaking of money, i got my paycheck today. woop woop.

oh! & guess what else... i got a title change.

i'm now the marketing director.

shit just got real, son!

i also found out that patti group is looking to open a second downtown location. aka, my main reason for being unsure about working for them (the whole wanting to move to the city, not wanting to commute to lemont everyday) may not even be an issue anymore.

it's a beautiful ting.

...in other news...

i'm super psyched about having my bedroom back tonight.

my brothers got wood floors put in & because of the staining, we've had to keep the air conditioning off the past three days. sleeping in a room with no ac on a summer night is my hell, so there was no way i was staying in there with my huge down blanket & pillow-top mattress. unfortunately for me, margaux still doesn't have a room because of her closet being redone & the boys already claimed the family room couch & the basement couch.

basically, we had a serious lack of sleep space options.

so the first night i slept on a chair.

i mean, it was one of those oversized love-seat style chairs, but stilll. misery.

then last night margaux & i convinced peter michael that we should get the big couch because we could both fit on it. he gave in, but thanks to margaux's kicking & the fact that it was 83 degrees in my house (dudeeeee!), i think i would rather have been on the chair.

but now i'm watching america's best dance crew which i love. & which also reminds me of jill & whitney - an added bonus. miss yall! so it's all good.
